so i could be doing homework, but i decided that writting a blog would be time better spent.

this song by The Fray has really been on my heart lately, every time i listen to it, it gets to me. it just constantly reminds me of my story and i look back on my story as i listen to the song. God chose me, it is such a hard concept to wrap my head around. I didn't choose God, HE CHOSE ME.

thinking about that makes me feel soooooo loved, but at the same time it is unbelievable. to think of all the times i screwed up and the mistakes i made, i feel underserving to be chosen. but then i remember that it isn't up to me.

so that is what i think about when i hear the you found me part of the song...
but then the song moves into where were you...

this is completely home hitting for me, because after God finds us we wonder were He was during the times when we were lost and insecure. where was God when we were going down the wrong paths and taking wrong turns to make things even worse along the way. well the truth is God was there, He never left our side, and in the moments when we couldn't even carry ourselves, He carried us.

so to end this i want to leave you with a verse that was shared with me today by a very good friend of mine. the verse talks about even when we were God's enemy (meaning we didn't want anything to do with Him or we were displeasing Him) He still loved us, and sent Jesus, His son, to come and die for us, knowing how imperfect we would be. WOW. that just leaves me speechless and i hope that it leaves you speechless too!

Romans 5:10
"For it, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life!"

True Idenity

"be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind" -dr. suess

this quote is one that had the most impact on me in my life growing up. Dr. Suess said it all, in just one short statement. Today we let so much what other people think of us affect us, when in all reality, it shouldn't. The people that truly are your friends and that truly care about you will always love you for who you are, and not who you pretend to be. When you pretend to be someone else after awhile you will lose yourself, it's unaviodable.

discovering who you are can be difficult, but what we all need to realize is that it is not who we are it is whose we are.

"Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it..." -Matthew 10:39

just like this verse says, when you lose and give up your life to God you will truly find it. Therefore you will find who you are and who God wants you to be. You will no longer have to worry about what other people think of you because it only matters what God thinks about you, and He will always love you. so you can do things like act rediculous and silly, and wear every color of the rainbow...(that is what i do best :) )

so somedays we all enjoy being 5 again, atleast i do. We are never too old to take advice from Dr. Suess because i honestly believe that he says it best. We can learn a lot from remembering the things we learned when we were children...

...after all we are called to have child-like faith

in the beggining...

Whoa...so i am an official blogger.

I thought that the title "in the beggining" was appropriate for this blog since after all it is my first. and to start of the very first blog of my life i thought i would put some song lyrics up that i wrote...

I wrote that this past week for a verse in a song my friend wrote. yes it is a rap. im just that cool :) (just kidding)...

but in all seriousness the lyrics of this verse are quite meaningful to me and my life. "God is love 1 John 4:8" This is really a verse that is so impactful. God loves me, no matter what i do or how many times i screw up and get things wrong. He loves me when no one else will. WOW...there are no other words to describe that. He is the definition of love and because He loves us, we can love others.

LOVE: a simple 4 letter word. It is the word that i can't live with out and i hope that for you this blog brought you a message of love.

GOD is LOVE...
